  Solar Energy Radiation Data
Solar radiation data are essential for the design and analysis of solar energy conservation systems. These systems include, concentrating solar thermal power plants, concentrating photovoltaic systems, and solar energy storage systems. Solar radiation data are especially needed in the design of non-traditional/novel solar energy converters.
We have developed computer models that generate hourly solar radiation data for global locations. This data can be used to study the long-term and dynamic characteristics of solar energy systems before they are built. The data can also be used in building energy simulation programs.
The data incorporate the statistical/probability features inherent in actual sequences of solar radiation data. The models can also been used to generate synthetic Typical meteorological Year (TMY) solar radiation data that typify the long-term climate of a location.
